Stainless Steel Wire Balustrade Regulations

The following tables are from the NCC 2022 Building Code of Australia regarding the requirements for wire balustrades.

Table 11.3.6a Wire barrier construction – Minimum required tension (N) for stainless steel horizontal wire

As a general guide we suggest that 11 x 3.2mm wires at 80mm apart and intermediate posts at 1500mm or less is a good standard configuration that should comply with the building code.
